Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 - 11:27 p.m. I haven't written for so long, it's hard to catch up. Today was riding day for Steph, the first since before Christmas. It was good to get out to the stables again, and the girls enjoyed it a lot. Steph rode Shirley again, her old favorite. We had snow again last night, the second night in a row, but not much, about an inch or so. The sun was shining today, so most of it melted away. I happened to catch my niece, Vickie, online last night and started writing to her on Messenger as we haven't heard from them for a couple of days. Mike got on and we talked for just a bit. He had had quite a scary experience. He said that he had had a pretty sick spell, and that Mom, Dad, (brother) Billy, and Aunt Lucy, (Dad's older sister) came to him, they were standing around his bed, but Vickie and Lela couldn't see them. They were smiling and Dad told him to relax. He said it scared the s - - t out of him, he thought they were coming for him. And, he said, I haven't been taking any morphine! Lela (niece) said later that he was definitely 'somewhere in between'. His eyes were closed tightly, but he was talking, mumbling, and answering questions from someone. It was quite an emotional experience. I think he has been 'crossing over' for some time. He didn't have a very good night last, so I hope that he can sleep tonight. The girls take turns staying with him during the night. Kathy and I have been going over and over this today, and Brenda said that her cousin went through the same thing as she was dying. Well, I have been on here most of the day, so I think I'll get myself to bed, and try to write more often, so I can at least remember what in the world I do all day long.
